1-hour 13-minute Video recording of a live event.

Performing software and firmware updates to Enersys controllers and peripherals such as the CXC HP, CXC, L-ADIO, rectifiers, etc.

CXC HP AS software version 8.3 is available on the Alpha.ca website under Support>Software and firmware downloads. 

Objectives

  1. Software download from website: OS, AS, ADIO FW, Rect FW, Boot Loader
    1. Show and explain the SW version schedule document. 

i. Latest AS & OS

ii. Latest ADIO FW

iii. Latest Rect FW

iv. Legacy SW

  1. Prep work to perform prior to starting the software upgrade:
    1. Get restoration file: Backup or Config
  1. AMPS24 CXCU SW & Bootloader upgrade.  No FW portion.
    1. Note the SW version for AMPS24 is unique.
  2. AMPS80 & DCPP CXC SW & Bootloader upgrade. No FW portion.
    1. The same procedure is for all systems.
    2. Load different software versions depending on the application: AMPS80, DCPP, DCPP w/ Pathfinder.
  3. CXC HP – all systems running v7.30 & newer:
    1. All systems use the same software.
    2. Update AS & OS from GUI.
    3. Update FW for ADIO
    4. Update FW for Rectifier
  4. CXC HP – all systems running v5.0 & newer:
    1. All systems use the same software.
    2. Update AS & OS from GUI – no need to demo LCD application.

i.Load AS first to get the button to load OS remotely.

  1. Update FW for ADIO
  2. Update FW for Rectifier
  3. Need to update battery section – update procedure and demo video on Alpha.CA website.

i. Study the README files from each AS version to know what to update.

  1. CXC HP – All systems running SW older than v4.90:
    1. All systems use the same software.
    2. Need to load v4.90 before loading the latest AS
    3. Update AS & OS from GUI – no need to demo LCD application.

i.Load AS first to get the button to load OS remotely

  1. Update FW for ADIO
  2. Update FW for Rectifier
  3. Need to update battery section – demo the update procedure and demo video on Alpha.CA website.

i. Study the README files from each AS version to know what to update.

  1. CXC HP – v8.0 battery section review
    1. Discuss the 1st table as being the Battery System.

i. Discuss linking: BDO, voltage source, current equation (only two valid choices)

  1. Discuss the need to create individual Battery Strings.

i. Current source has ONLY two valid choices: No Source or Shunt (requires to be monitoring the shunt)

ii. BDO source must be programmed into each string, even if they are all multiplied into a single alarm signal.
